Directness. Discernment. Insight. Kindness.
First of all, I Janyne, is the best coach I've ever worked with and the reason she's so good is that she can tell very difficult things so nicely, directly and kindly that you know it's like, Wow. She just has an amazing skill. She has a wisdom and a discernment that goes beyond just all the powerful tools and methods that she uses. So she has insight and and so she can quickly assess you as a leader and then help. And and therefore, I mean, that's just one or two of her many, many abilities and skills. So I would say, Janyne's directness, discernment, and insight. Her powerful assessment tools, her ability to always push you to become more self aware. And therefore, when you become more self aware, then you can actually tap into, you know your abilities and also just the amount around, you know that are needed.

Mindset Turning Point
Janyne has has this magic trick where I'll be reflecting something to her that's been really tough for me, and it feels like a really sticky issue. I just don't know how to get through it. And she pulls out her magic trick, which is to say, "Well, what if we thought about it this way?" And she'll just totally reframe how to think about a situation. Sometimes just getting out of the mindset that I'm currently in. Just having someone say, "Well, there's another way to think about this. How about . . . Try this on for a size. " That often has been kind of the the turning point in me being able to just mentally get through whatever the problem is. I have to say, Janyne has a lot of magic tricks. That one is probably my favorite one when she reframes things so that I now it's not even just having having a different way to think about it in the moment. But that reminder to maybe reframe an issue has been really really helpful in in many ways.

Proven Tactics
We are dealing at my organization with a particularly tough client relationship, and Janyne has coached me in ways to kind of ways to stop the adrenaline flowing when I get worked up. And in the moment how I can control myself. Like, how can I go back to a rational way of thinking rather than an emotional or adrenaline way of reacting? So that I'm in control of what's of myself and proud of myself. With Janyne and her work on like neuroplasticity and the ability to keep learning and mindset and positive psychology, she weaves in wisdom and also research into the ways that she coaches to a new level. So I feel like it's very well informed, but also proven like they're they're tactics that she doesn't just guess on. Or they worked for her alone. It's because she's done the work and done the research and done the the integration of those practices with many people that she feels confidence and in bringing them to the coaching table.

Individualized Coaching Process
She's not going to pull the punches and ask easy questions. you know, and she's gonna keep track, and she's gonna remember the things that you told her in previous meetings and things will like we. We may have talked about something 4 or 5 months ago, and she'll remember the details of what I said about that, and it'll feed into the advice that she's giving me, because she's really actively listening and paying attention. And so it's not just her. It's not just her her giving you what she thinks is right like she very much tailors the session to what you need to get out of it. And I think that because I've worked with some coaches that are very curriculum based. They kind of have the things they want to make sure, you know. And that's fine. And it's a structure. And there's wisdom that can be found within that structure. But she's not a curriculum based like she knows it's not one size fits all she knows. It's not every bit of wisdom that she's chasing or knows is going to be applicable to each person, and I think that type of customization is really helpful. So that's what I would probably tell people.

Better the Company
We were struggling. Instead of keeping the focus on why something wasn't fair, or why that wasn't working - She really managed my temperament, or my expectations. She helped me better control myself to feel good. I just knew that's what I needed to do but I never could just put it into play. And so when Janyne was able to approach me with, I wasn't necessarily wrong. But what we focused on is like how I can change myself to mend that situation and be better. That's that's where I thought the big win was.
I mean the framework. It's really just speaks to my soul. Because she can unpack it, and you know, identify the problem you kind of lean in with. For me it was like empathy. Then, you know, there was like that titch of empathy. But then we turned it into problem solving. So for me, when someone comes and can see it your way without giving you that full "you're right." And then we change that into how we can better the company. For me that framework was always what I wanted to do. I wanted to better the company. I needed a little empathy, so that I could move to bettering the company, and so for me she could always hear people, even in group settings, she could hear people. Lean into them. But then better the company. I always thought that was probably my probably my favorite part.

We Can Do Better
Yes, there are many examples of of where Janyne has made such an impact. I'll give you a quick one. But then there's one that's probably a little bit more profound and long lasting. But the the quick one was I'm on a senior leadership team. and the my counterparts were just being dysfunctional, and and they were arguing amongst themselves, and I just had it. And and in one of my coaching sessions with Janyne I was just like, "I'm just going to give it to these guys. I'm just gonna let them have it. And I'm gonna . . . you know."
And Janyne, in her calm and beautiful voice, you know she never tells you what to do. She just asks you questions. And she said, "What if you just said we can do better?" And I went. Oh, yeah, that's that's pretty smart. So I I use that.
So I'm in this meeting, and I'm just, I'm just ready to, you know, pound their heads together like symbols. And and so I just said, "Guys, we can do better." Just as Janyne did. I just got quiet and and it was so powerful, but so simple. And so then I didn't have to have this big conflict, and my blood pressure didn't have to go up. And then and then I didn't have to mediate. It was just. We can do better as a team guys. And that was just a quick example of where her coaching made made such an impact.

Expert in Adapting to Our Culture and Needs
"We completely through her curve a ball the night before a team program, and she was able to quickly adapt and and move forward with a strategy that wasn't the strategy that was initially determined. She is very adaptable and has a lot of different ways to approach things. She is not a "One Trick Pony. This is MY only process." We've seen she has a lot of different strategies."

Overall Leadership Growth
Those are some of the ways that Janyne's coaching has become so helpful to me personally. And I would even say that the people I was coaching that she was coaching. So we would be in meetings together. She was so good at drawing out of them things they really didn't want to talk about, but which were necessary for them to grow as a leader. I still remember there was a leader that we were coaching together and as Janyne started, you know, really kind of helping him assign the masks and the things he was hiding behind. He got so uncomfortable. He actually asked to leave coaching. which was really sad to me because we were getting somewhere. Finally I said, "Look, I'm not gonna force him." So he pulled out, but I really regret that as a result of that he still has not grown and he's still with us. He has not grown as much as I hoped he would grow.
